Coaching Elementary Teachers in Literacy: Does Feedback Type Matter for Low Implementers?

For literacy coaches and teachers, feedback is an integral component of effective coaching. Yet, little understood about the interaction between high/low implementing teachers within coaching sessions. This multiple case study explored types provided both high low over a two-year period. In first year, at least twice as much instructional emotional to low-implementing teachers. Those not only received more in general, but they was primarily what needed do improve. contrast, during same period high-implementing than feedback. Low implementation, or resistance, observed this may have been tied overwhelming amount type received. Coaches seeking enhance practices could benefit from attending provide their learners.
